Privacy Policy
We built What's Happening Aruba to help you find great nights out, not to surveil them. This page explains exactly what data we collect, why we collect it, and what we never do with it. For how we source event listings and venue media (and how venues can request removal), see our Terms of Service.
What we collect
Below is the full list of data the app may collect, the purpose for each, and whether it's tied to your identity.

Location is only used while the app is in use. We do not collect location in the background. We do not combine or share your data across other companies' apps or websites for advertising. We do not engage in tracking as defined under Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework.
What we never do
- Sell your data. Not to advertisers, not to event organisers, not to anyone.
- Track you across other apps or websites.
- Send you marketing email without your explicit consent.
- Store precise location on our servers beyond the active session.
Who we share with
We use a small number of vetted service providers to run the app. They process data on our behalf under strict contractual obligations:
- Sentry, for crash and error reporting (personal data scrubbed).
- Expo and Google Cloud, for app delivery, push notifications, and hosting.
- Our own servers, hosted in the EU, for the event database and account sync.
Your rights
- Request a copy of all data we hold about you, in a portable format.
- Delete your account and all associated data within 30 days, no questions asked.
- Opt out of analytics in Settings, Privacy at any time.
- Withdraw any permission (location, notifications) at any time in your device settings.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with data, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll notify you in the app before the changes take effect. The "last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the latest version.
